Poets House

a place to hang your words in tidy places

or stash them away in the basement

where vowels stretch across the table

and periods lay to rest

rhymes roam the rooms

and stanzas stack up the staircase

windows open, breeze free

this is the house where poetry

lives in exclamation

Poets House, Battery Park, New York City

at the end of the hall in this special house quietly sits the desk of e.e. cummings where i too did sit for a bit of inspiration
